'Is Your Love Big Enough?' is the title track off of the album, which is full of gems, but I really relate to this one. She's amazingly talented at the guitar as well, which probably gives her 1000 more cool points. Her smooth, soulful voice and deeply heartfelt lyrics really resonate with me.

De'Wayne on collaborating with longtime friend Grandson. I laid down a verse, he laid down a melody, and we cooked the whole night. We got the drums going, and he (GRANDSON) hopped on the mic and bodied it. “My true feelings about this is pure joy… it was just perfect timing. The thought-provoking lyrics contrast the upbeat energy of the song, lamenting grievances of the reality of adulthood, like “and if you make it out okay you’ll be lucky I was in a good mood today.” In tandem with this release, De’Wayne shares a one-on-one with GRANDSON where the two share stories from their longtime friendship, traveling, and the making of GOOD MOOD on his latest episode of DeWayne’s World. When the drums slam shut letting Grandson drops in "Let your nails in my back be the same in my coffin / We up all night cuz the games are exhausting / Gone now I’m back tell me more what you were talking / I’m a dead man walking." the song shifts subtly again. From the onset, the track rips with a fiery drum beat, and when De'Wayne starts spouting his words I somehow thought of an amalgam of artists as varied as OSEES, Beastie Boys, and late 70's punk in general.

LIVE, he is a fucking powerhouse and that kind of aesthetic is sometimes hard to capture on a studio production but "Good Mood" is absolutely super charged. De'Wayne pulled in Grandon on his latest full throttle banger "Good Mood" and stepping into and through the track, you feel multiple genres sort of hybridized propelled by De'Wayne's artistic energy. Ok, they are still young, still scrappy and still doing what they want to do eschewing boundaries and narrowing genre descriptors. "MDDN incubation / the KIA waiting / harder they make it / better the infiltration."Īlternative blendo artists De'Wayne and Grandson (Jordon Benjamin) have been friends and collaborators since 2014 (or thereabouts) when they were young and scrappy.
